Are you trying to find a proper skincare routine but have so many questions? How do I know what’s right for my skin? How many products should I use? In what order should I apply these products? Lastly, what are these products supposed to do? I know I had a lot of these questions too, so I started to research and what I found I wanted to share with you. Dermatologists around the globe recommend we cleanse, tone, and moisturize in that order. Most of us know cleansing means washing your face, and moisturizing means hydrating your skin, but what does toning mean? It means restoring your skin’s natural pH so that it’s primed to soak up your moisturizers and serums so you can get the most benefit from them. Toning also closes your pores so your moisturizing products don’t clog them and cause pimples. By doing this skincare routine you will make a huge difference over time in the health, appearance, and aging of your skin.
Stick with it!
You know what they say – patience is a virtue – and this is really the case with seeing results from your skincare routine. We all want results overnight but unfortunately that is not the case. Even the best skincare products take time to work, so it’s best not to expect results overnight. When you stick to a daily routine that is when you are most likely to start seeing some benefits, which can take anywhere between 6 to 12 weeks. It can take up to 3 months to know if your skincare routine is working.
Skincare routine steps:
So, let’s break down the steps so it easy to follow each day.
Cleansing your face should be the first step in any skincare routine, as it clears impurities and excess oil that can clog pores and dull skin. If you have sensitive or dry skin, it is best to try washing only at night and rinsing your face with just water in the mornings. Our facial bar, Imagine will gently cleanse your skin without stripping it of healthy oils and can be used daily. Our Facial Cleansing Scrub is simple and will leave your skin velvety soft. Simply sprinkle the cleanser into your hand, add a little water to make a thin paste, wet your face and massage, moving in small circles for 30 seconds, then rinse. It’s packed with vitamins, probiotics, antifungal and antibacterial compounds, collagen, and goat’s milk to maintain healthy skin. This can be used 1-2x a week.
Skin toner is an important step in any skincare regime. A toner is a water-like liquid that is applied to dry skin after cleansing. Toners refresh your skin, remove any residual debris, and
balance pH.Toners are packed with skin boosting benefits that leave you glowing. A good toner will close your pores which protects them against bacteria that can cause pimples and prepares your skin to absorb your moisturizer evenly – otherwise your moisturizer can clog your pores, causing pimples. A good moisturizer acts as a barrier on the skin to protect it from the climate and other elements that can cause irritation and dryness. Our Skin Souffle facial moisturizers are full of nutrients and specialty ingredients that will leave your skin feeling silky soft and supple. You can use them day and/or night and there are three to choose from so you can get one that’s right for your skin type. Find them here.
4) Night Serum
A serum can both treat and protect, delivering powerful ingredients that can address several complexion issues, from wrinkles to dark spots. Our night serum is a heavy-duty serum with ingredients like helichrysum and geranium essential oils, squalene, sea buckthorn oil, organic argan, rose hip, evening primrose oils, and carrot seed oil. This potion is very potent, and you only need to use a few drops. 1 to 3 nights a week, depending on your skin type. It is high in vitamin C, so don’t let the orange color scare you- it soaks in overnight and leaves your skin soft and supple. You can use our skin souffle moisturizers in conjunction with our Goodnight Kiss Night Serum. On the nights you don’t use the serum, use the Souffle. Your skin will thank you!
5) Deep Cleansing Mask
The main ingredient in our deep cleansing mask is BC Glacial Clay which is hand-harvested off the coast of Bella Coola, BC. This clay has high mineral content (the highest in the world), and is colloidal clay, meaning that the clay particles are as small, or smaller than particles of mist in a fog bank. This gives it amazing absorptive power and allows it to draw out toxins, remove bacteria, and get rid of dead skin cells. It also increases circulation, thereby increasing moisture and oxygen on the surface of the skin which increases its health and improves the appearance. Use this Clay Mask 1 to 4 times per month. Who knew mud could get you so clean?!
